COBA:SANKOFA

The Collective of Black Artists (COBA) seeks to preserve and share the finest traditions of African and African Diasporic dance and music through research, education, and entertainment. We celebrate traditional African culture, aesthetics, and values as resources for all people, and utilize these resources to encourage interracial cooperation, cross-cultural understanding, and diversity.

We are a performance company that promotes positive social change and reinforces the best of human values - Knowledge, wisdom, and heritage - through the tradition of Sankofa. COBA presents a program of dance, music, poetry, and rhythm that is responsive to the present, but also celebrates the past. Learn more about Sankofa.
