Choreographic Statement:
PASSAGE is inspired by Indaba, My Children, a collection of tales and legends from Credo Mutwa, a Zulu shaman from the South African province of Natal, who was determined to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather and become a tribal historian. Rooted in African storytelling and underlined with metaphors, this contemporary interpretation of this anthology is layered with chants, improvised musical buffers and a physical language that captures its essence.
