Choreographic Statement:
CROSS CURRENTS is a physical exploration, developed from spontaneous improvisations, whereby the body extends beyond perceived physical limits and becomes a catalyst for physical transcendence. The work is firmly rooted in African tradition and explores a kaleidoscope of endlessly flowing and percussive movement motifs with strong underlying rhythms that sometimes propel the dance forward or just support the physical exuberance of the movement.
