Almond Small is a founding member of the OMO Dance Company and is a recipient of the Chalmers Award. He was born in Georgetown Guyana where he trained in the National School of Dance. He continued his training at the School of Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal and the Alvin Ailey Dance School. Almond has performed with Guyana National Dance Company (where he was a founding member), Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal, Toronto Dance Theatre, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Xing Ballet, Eliza Monte, the Pearl Lang Dance Company, Ballet Jorgen and numerous independent choreographers.
