Allison entered the cultural sector in 2006 as an arts administrator and event planner for the inaugural Winnipeg Mural Festival. In 2007 she accepted the opportunity to become the program coordinator for the Urban Shaman Gallery. While at Urban Shaman, Ms. Yearwood worked with Indigenous curators Steve Loft, Ryan Rice, and Jenny Western on visual art installation, online new media exhibitions, and performances.

In 2007 she accepted the opportunity to become the program coordinator for the Urban Shaman Gallery. While at Urban Shaman, Ms. Yearwood worked with Indigenous curators Steve Loft, Ryan Rice, and Jenny Western on visual art installation, online new media exhibitions, and performances. Her skills and abilities were developed to adapt to a variety of circumstances within an artist run centre.
Her most recent role was that of TV and New Media Line Producer for the Banff New Media Institute at the Banff Centre of the Arts.
Growing up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Allison was exposed to the wonderful multicultural arts community. She participated as a volunteer at the Folklorama Festival as the First Nations visual arts consultant and PD Day with the arts and culture industries.
Allison has worked as a make up artist for M.A.C. cosmetics, and currently is a freelance make up artist for film and television.
Ms. Yearwood was nominated to the board of directors of the Winnipeg Film Group in October 2007. She immediately took on an executive role as secretary to the board. Allison recently completed her first short film The Hinterlands Who Who's: The Urban Cougar filmed for the One Take Super 8 Event held during the WNDX Film Festival. She continues to explore film as a way of sharing her stories.
